Gastvortrag: Green Coding — Software-Effizienz jenseits des Hypes
We were invited by Prof. Dr. Marie Bergmann to give a guest lecture at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg (H-BRS) in the Department of Computer Science.
The talk presented a systematic framework for understanding software emissions — clarifying what is emissions-relevant, where emissions originate, and how to measure them. Key topics included emission sources, regulatory contexts, and practical measurement using tools like the Green Metrics Tool.
Proper resource scaling was highlighted as the most critical technical lever for reducing software energy consumption, and students were encouraged to participate in related research projects.
